Room was filthy, other peoples hairs in the bed. Freezing cold. Damp growing everywhere and shower did not work. Toilet was covered in other peoples urine and floor had not been cleaned. Could also hear staff arguing very loudly until 1:30am as well as slamming doors. The worst hotel I’ve ever come across

MOST VILE HOTEL I’VE EVER BEEN AT! DOESN’t EVEN DESERVE A ONE STAR The inside was so eerie and not welcoming at all. The Asian man at the desk was so rude. The room was disgusting. The windows wouldn’t close, the lock on the bathroom wouldn’t shut, the toilet was soiled. There was no mirror in the bathroom. Hardly any sockets in the room. The kettle already had water in it when we arrived. It was disgraceful. We had to leave as soon as we saw this. This hotel should be shut down. We were absolutely horrified. There were spiders in every corner of the room. The location of the hotel is in a hidden place.

Arrived at night tired to find a very loud wedding happening at the hotel, tried for an hour to find a member of staff and had no luck, ended up ringing Hotels.com who spent another hour trying to make contact with the hotel, finally a man appeared from nowhere and said we had been double booked, after arguing with him he suddenly had a room available, we walked in to find the beds had been slept in, with little black insects on the bed sheet, i refused to stay and hotels.com eventually transferred me to a much better hotel close by. Please feel free to ignore this comment and find out for yourself.

Location good, but don't stop at, bed was damp with lumps of hair under duvet... Room cold... Toilet flush broken, I fixed. Walls damp and decaying. Another Guest walked into room looking for reception

Worst experience of staying anywhere. The room was dirty and had damp everywhere. There was a bottle of lube left in the wardrobe. Chips in the drawer. The shower was freezing and there was no pressure. The window didn't close as the man that worked there said it was broken. I had a tummy ache so we called the number we were given. It said they were available til 11pm. I asked for a toilet roll. The man came, holding a toilet roll and said "mam why are you using so much toilet roll. You already had one" The toilet roll I was given was the cheapest you can get and there wasn't a lot on it. My partner said "yeah sorry I was ill". He said "how dare you disturb me, I have finished for the night, everyone has checked in already" My partner said "I apologise do you not work here?" He said "no my dad owns the place" We explained that we are on the M25 and it would be difficult to go get some from the shop and his response was "you are white and richer than me so should buy your own" We asked his name and he said Ali and his dad owns the place and he doesn't care about us. We went in our room and went to sleep. I was so tired. If you want a racist Indian fawlty towers then this is the place. If you go here please take your own everything. Smoke alarm hanging off the ceiling, lock didn't work. Never go here.

most extraordinary hotel experience ive ever had, id avoid staying at this hotel unless you want to stay in hotel managed by a sociopath!! there are several hotels in near by basildon, if you book several days in advance you'll get for the same price.

Avoid this place.....We were greeted at the front door by a man, scruffy and smoking. He took payment in reception area which was grubby and nothing like advertised photo and we were assigned our room in the main building to which we made our way up a precarious wooden staircase. The carpet was tatty and at top of stairs was a pile of unwashed laundry. Our room was tatty and grubby although the bedding did appear clean. Panes of glass missing from secondary glazing, gaffer tape on shower wall, light bulbs missing, shower window painted over, standard lamp with no plug socket nearby, just a generally grubby state of repair. We checked out within 15 minutes of arrival and booked in to another hotel nearby for only a little more money. We enjoy short breaks and camping so know how to take the rough with the smooth but this was our worst overnight experience ever. Avoid like the plague unless you have no standards as there are plenty of other hotels and B&B's nearby offering better value.

I arrived and was greeted well. Floor upon entry was dirty but I was apologised to about dirt as it was busy. At the end of the corridor there was a pike of dirty towels on the floor. As soon as I entered the sleeping area, it didn't look to bad but more of a caravan feel. I open the bathroom door and could not stay In tge room. It smelt of sewage. The reception man came and said he'll fix the smell. He went away and came back with kitchen paper and used a section to cover the drain on the base of the show. He gave a mini lesson of the issue and said that's it. We left and was assured we'd get a refund and a month later. No refund to be seen. Disgusting room, service and a con

I was put into room 1. My neighbours in room 2 were shouting and swearing. The walls must be paper thin because I could hear them like they were right next to me so I asked to be moved to somewhere more quiet which cost me an extra £30 which should have been provided for free really? My “upgrade” is shown in the photos. It was absolutely disgusting. I couldn’t wait to leave. Worst and dirtiest hotel I’ve stayed in. For the money paid I could have stayed in a Premier inn. Not like photos advertised at all. Bathroom was also completely different. Sheets, carpet, walls, all filthy. Save your money.

It had more of an Airbnb/ guest house feel. It’s very basic but the rooms were spacious and clean. I think I must have stayed in the newly refurbished room because my carpet seemed brand new and the bathroom tiles seemed new. Given the price, you get what you pay for. I just wanted a clean room and a quiet night sleep. I got that that, hence the 5 stars.

The homeless looking man who checked us in was rude, unprofessional and just a horrible human being. You don’t really expect an attitude when you’re paying to stay in this dump of a hotel but you get it for free so that’s the only bonus. The rooms are dirty, smelly and diabolical!!! The beds looks like something my grandad made in the 1950s from some old wood in the garden and some dirty looking curtains. The tv does not work at alll…. The blinds look like someone didn’t make it to the toilet on time 🤢 the pillows are dirty and the door to the room doesn’t even lock. Save yourself the pain and just book a Travelodge

Love staying here , basic hotel . Like marmite . But ideal for stop over .always friendly staff . Bit eratic .but priced well for what u get .place is slowly getting improved .

If your looking for a great budget stay then this is your place. Good location, and the property has bags of potential. Currently under restoration, so expect some issues. No food on site, and you will need to either order delivery or drive out to eat. TV in the room not great at all but room a good size.

Like something from a horror film. Unsignposted, and hidden down an unlit track. Despite the obscure (yet accessible) location, it suffers from pervasive road noise - which the ancient and knackered windows do little to stop. Took 3 doorbell rings and 2 calls to get in - although I may have lost count. The window in my room was broken (actual glass missing, not just tricky to use). Half the plugs and lights in the room didn't work - and staff were already aware before allocating it to me. The electrical isolator was hanging out of the wall, so it's pretty clear this place hasn't had an electrical safety inspection recently. The mattress was thin, hard and seemingly well past the end of its useful life. The staff made the best of the appalling lack of investment, keeping the place very clean and being generally helpful. They're the only reason it's not 1 star. A sad, sad situation for a marvellous building to have fallen into.

The whole place is just nasty. The rooms, bed sheet, carpet, etc is visibly dirty. Doesn't looks like a hotel, more like a mind of homeless centre

This hotel is not suitable for the average tourist. In fact, I hesitate to even refer to it as a hotel. There was an unsettling atmosphere and the clientele was quite “odd”. We did not feel secure during our stay. The initial room we were given was disgustingly dirty; I couldn't bring myself to sit down. They hastily cleaned it upon our arrival, quickly vacuuming and spraying air freshener to mask the odors. However, there were red stains on the carpet (definitely not from makeup or wine), brown stains on the sheets, and the bathroom was dirtier than a public restroom. They offered us another room, which was relatively cleaner, but only because everything in it was brand new - new carpet, new mattress, and new bathroom fixtures. The first night was tolerable, but on the second evening, we felt unsafe as someone attempted to enter our room while we were inside. Furthermore, upon returning to our room after being out all day, we noticed that the TV was on, leading us to suspect that someone had been in our room. For the sake of our safety, we checked out straight away. I understand that this place is the cheapest in the area, but it is truly not worth the risk.

If you turn up when youre supposed to and dont expect the ritz for £40 a night or the odd person chilling with a spliff watching the sunrise or set over the beautiful acres of cornfield this place is a hidden paradise bursting with potential and improving asthetically by the day. Rooms have all been recarpeted and redecorated. Free wifi. Nice wedding venue marquee and well kept garden grounds. I like this place.
